Associated Content Secrets

May 28th, 2009 | Posted in Article Publishing, Make Money, Online Income

I recently wrote a post about whether it was possible to make money with Associated Content. I have been writing for Associated Content since October of 2007. Associated Content has not made me rich, however, this is not Associated Content’s fault. I have been dabbling with several different ways to make money online to see which ones “feel right”. During this process, I have learned some secrets that will greatly increase your Associated Content earnings.

Keep writing those evergreens. Evergreens are articles who have  a season (i.e. Christmas). The key is to pick a season, holiday or subject that comes around each year. Initially, it feels as though writing another Mother’s Day gift list would not work. After all, there are not there hundreds of these articles already. At least that is how I felt. My first two articles with Associated Content were “Top 10 Christmas Gifts for Dad” and “Top 10 Christmas Gifts for Teachers”.

These two articles are still my most popular. Between October and Christmas each article received about 1000 hits. My expectation was that they would not receive anymore hits until Christmas 2010. This was not the case. Currently, the Top 10 Christmas Gifts for Dad has received almost 3000 hits. Top 10 Christmas Gifts for Teachers has received almost 2500 hits.

Target popular keywords. Evergreens are wonderful and can make you money, however, it does not help if the are on subjects that few people search for. For instance, articles about Christmas gifts are likely to be more popular than articles about Druid holidays. Targeting popular keywords helps to ensure that your Associated Content articles will rank higher with search engines.

Do not stop writing. Publishing for Associated Content is no different than article marketing or link building. The more of your articles Associated Content has published the more hits you will receive and the more money you will make. I have published slightly less than 30 articles on Associated Content. My last article was published over a month ago. However, I still am receiving between a total of 20 to 40 hits per day. One way that you earn money on Associated Content is based upon how many hits your articles receive. 20 to 40 hits per day earns me between $1.00 and $2.00 a month. This does not sound like much but that is money that I really have done nothing for.

Write Search Engine Optimized (SEO) articles. Associated Content has strict publishing guidelines. These guidelines require some finese to write Search Engine Optimized (SEO) articles. Associated Content requires that your articles be grammaticaly correct, cite your sources, and be appealing to the reader. Filling your articles with keywords certainly helps with the search engines, however, if it affects the readability of your article then Associated Content’s editors may not accept it.

Associated Content is one of the stricter article libraries that I have used. Associated Content uses real people to review the submissions and are not shy about kicking an article back to you. These traits are what makes the earning potential with Associated Content so high. Their editorial process has made their articles very popular with search engines. Search engine popularity has ensured the potential to earn money is very real with Associated Content. These tips can assist  you in publishing articles with Associated Content that will bring the maximum amount of income. This is not meant to be an exhaustive list of tips. This list is meant only to get you started down the road of making money with Associated Content. I welcome any comments, suggestions, or tips you have found useful.
